Become a Tutor

Help Bridge Education Gaps and Make a Difference
RESN is always on the lookout for high achieving high school graduates who are passionate about enhancing access to education despite geographical barriers, and to foster life changing outcomes for regional and rural students. Our tutors are current university students and, through their recent transition from high school to university, have combined academic and peer experience to help others achieve their goals. Consideration may be given to applicants who are recent university graduates.
It is advantageous, but not a requirement, for tutor applicants to have experience in tutoring. For applicants who do not have previous tutoring experience, RESN will provide support and training, including through shadowing and invigilation.
As a RESN volunteer tutor, you will support a small group of high potential students, tutoring one subject and being responsible for:
Weekly Session
Holding a small, online group tutoring session each week for your subject
Student Q&A
Answering asynchronous student questions for your subject alongside a small team of other subject tutors (depending on subject size)
RESN’s primary aim as an organisation is to connect students with role models who can support them through their final year(s) of school, providing an important opportunity to give back to the community by making a direct contribution to rural and regional education.
It is mandatory for all tutors, either upon application or during onboarding, to hold a current WWCC card or equivalent.
