What We Do

RESN Services
At RESN, our mission is to increase access to high-quality educational support across rural and regional Australia. We provide free tutoring and educational resources to students, helping them succeed regardless of where they live.
Here's how we support students

Video Tutorials (VT)
Weekly, student-directed tutoring in English and Maths subjects (VCE & HSC) is offered in small groups of 1–3 students. Sessions are flexible, with evening and weekly scheduling, and include mentoring regarding study skills, university transition, and more.
Additional Opportunities
Students can access RESN-only resources such as our Unipaedia*, Med Guide, and the Subject Selection Guide. Additionally, RESN students can attend live panels, mock interviews, and even be sponsored to attend university open days.
Q&A Support
Students can ask questions outside of tutoring sessions and receive detailed answers within 48 hours from RESN’s network of tutors. Support is available for all VT subjects and additional subjects depending on demand and student needs.
Individual Support
Students receive regular one-on-one check-ins with tutors to review academic progress, discuss challenges, and receive personalised support. This ensures they stay on track and have the guidance needed to succeed in their studies.
*Unipaedia is RESN’s annual guide, offering students personal insights into university courses and majors. Written by current and former students, it helps bridge the gap for those who may not have easy access to firsthand university experiences, providing a unique and relatable perspective on higher education.
Student Commitment
By becoming a RESN student, individuals gain access to consistent, personalised, high-quality tutoring services at no cost. In return, they are expected to demonstrate a commitment to the following:
Attendance
Students are required to attend a one-hour group tutoring session via Slack each week, scheduled at a time agreed upon at the beginning of the term. Regular attendance is mandatory.
Active Participation
Students should engage fully in each session, with both camera and microphone enabled, and come prepared with any questions they have to maximise their learning experience.
Communication
In the event that a student is unable to attend a session, they must inform their tutor promptly to explain their absence and discuss any missed content.
Timely Response
Students are expected to respond to messages from their tutor and RESN staff in a timely manner, with Slack notifications activated to ensure important communication is not missed.
