RESN Services

At RESN, our mission is to increase access to high quality educational support across rural and regional Australia. We provide free tutoring and educational resources to students, helping them succeed regardless of where they live.

Here's how we support students

Video Tutorials (VT)

Weekly, student directed tutoring in English and Maths subjects (VCE & HSC) is offered in small groups of 1 to 3 students. Sessions are flexible, with evening and weekly scheduling, with emphasis on study skills, assessment preparatio, pathways support, and more.

Additional Opportunities

Opportunities are available for students to apply for sponsorship to attend University Open Days, through  which students get to experience university life. Students can also access a range of RESN only resources about subjects and pathways support.

Q&A Support

Students can ask questions outside of tutoring sessions and receive a response  within 48 hours from RESN’s network of tutors. Online support is available for all VT subjects and additional subjects depending on demand and availability.

Individual Support

Students receive regular one on one check ins with tutors to review academic progress, discuss challenges, and receive personalised support. This ensures they stay on track and have the guidance needed to succeed in their studies.

Student Commitment

By becoming a RESN student, participants gain access to consistent, personalised, high quality tutoring services at no cost. In return, they are expected to demonstrate a commitment to the following:

Commitment

Students should be motivated to learn and committed to making consistent progress towards their study goals. Students who benefit the most from RESN tutoring prioritise attending their scheduled weekly sessions.

Engagement

Students actively participate in their tutoring sessions, contribute to discussions, and come prepared with topics, questions, or areas they would like support with. Our most successful students take an active role in their own learning and development.

Communication

Students communicate openly with their tutors, ask questions when they need support, and keep their tutor informed if they are unable to attend a session. Strong communication helps students stay engaged and get the most from their tutoring experience.

Initiative

Students should be proactive and take ownership of their learning journey. This includes staying connected with their tutors, responding to important communications, and making the most of the opportunities available to them as a RESN student.
