What credentials do RESN tutors have?

Accepted Answer

All RESN tutors have a valid Working With Children's Check or equivalent, which our team verifies with relevant authoritative bodies.

RESN tutors have:

Completed the VCE, HSC or an equivalent certificate.

Achieved a 40+ study score in VCE, Band 6 in HSC or equivalent results in other curricula.

Often are tutoring privately or studying further in their subject areas at university (though not always).

I am a teacher or principal. How can I introduce RESN to my students?

RESN’s current model prioritises communicating to students through their teachers. To introduce your students to RESN tutoring, the first step is to contact us with:

How many of your students (Year 11 & 12 only) are interested in RESN’s tutoring services
What subjects they would like to receive tutoring in
What education certificate they are completing (HSC or VCE)

From there, we will inform you of our capacity to accept students, including times available for
tutoring. We will also send out a form for you to distribute to students, which will officially start the process of students being paired with a tutor.

I am a student. How can I access RESN tutoring?

RESN’s current model prioritises communicating to students through their teachers. If you are interested in receiving RESN tutoring, you will need to ask your teacher or principal to request RESN tutoring for you on your behalf.

Make sure your teacher or principal specifies:

What subjects you would like to receive tutoring in
What education certificate you are completing (HSC or VCE)

Under special circumstances, we can offer RESN tutoring to students without a school contact.

Please note that access to RESN tutoring without a school contact is not guaranteed.

Is RESN free to use?

All RESN services remain free for students and schools. RESN will remain free to reflect our belief that neither cost nor distance should be barriers to education.
